When a tooth is broken, we often recommend a bonded ceramic onlay rather than a traditional crown. This approach is much more conservative because it requires less cutting of the tooth, allowing us to preserve more of your natural enamel. We simply remove the damaged structure and replace it with high-quality ceramic material.

Using our CEREC technology, we can complete this procedure in a single appointment. During the treatment, we use a rubber dam—a protective barrier that keeps the area isolated and dry—which is vital for successful bonding and provides a more comfortable experience for our patients. Follow-Up and Routine Care
Once the anaesthetic wears off, you are generally able to eat on the treated tooth straight away. We also provide a follow-up call the next day to ensure you are recovering well, and we will continue to monitor the onlay during your routine six-monthly check-ups and cleans.
